NEED HELP SHAPING YOUR NEXT PROJECT?

Subsidised site-visits are available to help...

There are always new grants around the corner, so it is important to have your project ideas prepared so you maximise your chance of success.  YYLN has partnered with Seeds of Gippsland who can help you scope your project.  The Network and the member/landholder will share the cost of a site visit ($250 each) during which Seeds of Gippsland will spend 1- 2 hours on your proposed site discussing, observing and recording:

Aims and aspirations
  • Environment:  eg. remnant vegetation protection, habitat enhancement, soil stabilisation
  • Productivity or economics:  eg. stock shelter, pasture development
  • Community involvement:  field days, working bees, voluntary conservation, group development, community connectivity
  • Education; for example, property planning, field days, training and workshops
Experience and capacity
  • What size project can you handle?
  • What support is needed? For example, technical guidance, tree planting assistance, funding
If you have a specific on-ground project in mind:
  • Project dimensions - length, width, topography
  • Proximity to remnant vegetation; vegetation types present
  • Project time-line and basic site preparation and species selection guidance

If you don’t have a specific project site in mind:
  • Identify significant natural assets on the property (native vegetation, watercourses, wetlands) and/or environmental issues (erosion, weeds, run-off) – this feeds into funding applications and assessing priorities for landcare works

Every property and site is different, so the advice/service provided will vary.

THERE IS A MAXIMUM OF 20 SITE VISITS THIS ROUND -
SO REGISTER NOW!!!

Get active, get your hands dirty...

Projects are where we can have the most impact.  These can be undertaken by individuals, groups or by the whole Network.
Projects are
funded from grants or donations.  Funding sources can include both Federal and State  Governments,  philanthropic groups and private organisations.  The value of these grants varies considerably depending upon availability of funds and the grant classification.
Often, funding becomes available at short notice...

If you have an idea for a project, contact our Network staff now so we can be ready for when some funding becomes available - here's the

Expression of Interest Form - complete it and send it to our Landcare Office.
