The Yarram Yarram Landcare Network Board consists of volunteer YYLN members who look after the needs and requirements of the Yarram districts Landcare Groups and Sub-Groups. They do this through well researched strategic direction, active communication with the community, and excellent project management by a small, core group of staff. The YYLN has member families across the Network distributed over ten Landcare Groups.

Helga Binder
Chair
Helga lives with her partner, Peter, on a beautifully lush rainforest property near the headwaters of the Albert River. She loves the strong sense of community found in Landcare. Her expertise in Graphic Design and small business has been very welcome addition to the wide range of skills offered by other Board members.

David McAninly
Vice Chair

David has been a community leader in Yarram for many years. Recently retired from
running a dairy farm with his wife Joy, he still dedicates himself to Landcare and  advocates for us within his strong community network. David was Chair of the Board for six years and won the Victorian Individual Landcare Award in 2014.

Melissa Ainsworth
Secretary

Melissa and her family have a cow and calf operation at Stradbroke West. Having a former career in natural resource management, Melissa is a keen advocate of modern  sustainable agricultural practices and the protection of remnant vegetation. Highly organised and super efficient she is a wonderful asset to the Board and the network.

John McClumpha
Treasurer

Raised on a dairy farm John has always had a heart for the rural areas and bush land and after 42 years in Construction Engineering has retired to a remnant bush block on in Binginwarri
and now adds his skills to the function of our network. His basic philosophy - that we along with all other living things are equally part of nature - encompasses the basic Landcare principles.

Trevor Colvin
General Member

Trevor spent a lot of his working life with ‘The Age newspaper in Australia and China where he was instrumental in starting that country’s first English-language national
daily newspaper and a magazine publishing enterprise in Hong Kong. He has started two Landcare Groups since retiring to Gippsland and is keen to broaden the awareness of Landcare in the wider community..

David MacCaulay
General Member

Caring for his land before Landcare was even invented, David returns to our Board
after a few years ‘off’ tending his dairy farm. He and his wife Sue both have a passion for the environment and David  has won a number of Landcare Awards and accolades acknowledging his commitment. We are very lucky to have him volunteer for another
term or two helping to guide the network.

Michael Hobson
General Member

Michael's background as a professional fisherman has given him a unique insight into
the sustainability issues associated with the marine environment. His varied  entrepreneurial experience combined with his dedication to community mean that he will be invaluable in assisting our network to continue to deliver vital onground work with new ideas for building our funding base.

Libby Baulderstone
General Member

Libby’s passion for Landcare began in the mid 1980s. Although farm sustainably is
more challenging due to climate change, she believes we shouldn’t forget the significant changes made since 1980. Libby runs a family property producing fine
wool, lamb and beef at Darriman. She also recognises the important social role Landcare plays in more isolated farming communities.

Gus Hughes
General Member

An IT professional for 30 years, Gus and his wife Lyn moved to a smallholding in Madalya in 1985 where they run sheep, beef cattle, chooks and horses. He co-founded the Madalya Landcare Group in 1995
and has lost count of the number of trees planted. They have fenced off remnant vegetation and Jack River frontage and aim to leave the environment better than they found it.
