 WOODSIDE LANDCARE GROUP

WOODSIDE LANDCARE GROUP

Woodside Landcare Group is active in the area of Woodside along the South Gippsland Highway.  Its boundaries are south to McLoughlin's Beach, east to Woodside Beach and north to Giffard Darriman.  The Group is very active and social with members heavily involved in the control of pest plants and animals, salinity remediation, and revegetation on private land.  Woodside Landcare Group was one of the first groups in the area and was instrumental in the formation of the YYLN.  Members are actively involved in the Mullungdung to Coast Project (protecting remnant vegetation, connectivity corridors and cross-property biodiversity planning), and the Gippsland Plains Drought Tolerant Pasture Group (trialling perennial pastures).  Members are also undertaking a Coastcare-funded project aimed at linking remnants to Jack Smith Lake.
